New novel by Liz Byrski

I am very pleased to advise that Dr Liz Byrski’s new novel, Family Secrets has just been released.

Dr Byrski, a Senior Lecturer in the School of Media, Culture and Creative Arts, is a well-respected novelist and has published eight books to-date. She recently discussed her new novel in a Sydney Morning Herald article.

My congratulations go to Liz.

Volunteers needed for Open Day Catalyst

Curtin Open Day Catalyst on 3 August, is our biggest recruitment event, attracting around 17,000 visitors to Campus to discover more about our courses and facilities, to talk to our staff and current students, and to learn why Curtin is WA’s most preferred university.

I know many staff devote an enormous amount of effort to Open Day over several months. Thank you all for your work. With the half cohort now in Year 12, and uncertainty about fees resulting from the Federal Budget, our recruitment efforts are particularly important.

If you’re not already involved in Open Day, please consider volunteering. Morning and afternoon shifts are available, and all volunteers receive a free Open Day Catalyst t-shirt. You can get more information by emailing openday@curtin.edu.au or calling Asha Selvendra on extension 1020.

I look forward to seeing you at Open Day Catalyst.

We will be running tours of the HIVE during Open Day. Through the Open Day Volunteer program we are hoping to recruit a couple of people to assist with the running of the tours in the HIVE. If you’re able to assist, please contact Asha via the above email or phone number.
