Sad events in Albany

Many of you will have heard the distressing news on the weekend about three of our students who were swept off rocks at The Gap in Albany on Saturday. Two students have been found and are recovering but it is with sadness that we acknowledge that one student is still missing: Ali Hussan Choucair, a second year pharmacy student from Canada.

Ali Choucair’s family has flown to Albany as the search continues. We express our sincere concerns and support for the Choucair family and friends, and our colleagues in Pharmacy and in Housing during this very difficult time.

The University’s Counselling Service (9266 7850) is available for anyone needing support during this time, most particularly for those students and staff who were friends and colleagues of Ali Choucair.
