Suggestion: Food Monitoring in Postgraduate Room

By Curtin Library 20 November 2017 News & events Comments Off on Suggestion: Food Monitoring in Postgraduate Room

From the suggestion box@Curtin Library…

Hi there,

The “no food” rule in the postgraduate room is not being obeyed.

This exam period I have seen people eating everything from apples and potato chips through to kebabs and pizzas (yes, really!)

It is very difficult to concentrate when someone is loudly working their way through a bag of Doritos!

I recommend a sign at every desk explaining that other students have complained about people eating.

Thank you !
David.

The Library responds…

Thank you for bringing your concerns about the Postgrad Room to our attention. You are right. The rule for that room is no food or drink except water. I have asked the team to increase the monitoring of the room and passed to them your suggestion about a sign pointing out the impact on other students. If you are studying in there and someone is behaving poorly and impacting on your study environment you can bring this to the attention of Library staff as it happens and they will assist you.
