Suggestion: Computer Use

By Curtin Library 30 April 2019 News & events Comments Off on Suggestion: Computer Use

From the suggestion box@Curtin Library…

Hey guys,
So I seem to have this problem often. On level 3 waiting to be able to use a computer, there are 16 computers not being used that I can’t access because people are using the desk in front of the computer. Now often people are using their laptops and the computer- cool! All good!! However there are always heaps of people working at the desk on their laptops that never actually intend to use the computer. Is it possible for you to consider an approach to managing this? It would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

The Library responds…

Thank you for the feedback. The Library does not have a specific rule about the use of other devices when clients are at a library computer as we have noted that students may be using both simultaneously.

If you do have need of a PC, you may respectfully let the person using the workstation know that you also need it. Alternatively, we also have computer workstations on Levels 4, 5 and 6.

A staff member will also be happy to assist you to locate another workstation, especially during busy times.
