Library end of year closedown

The Robertson Library will be operating on reduced hours 9am-5pm from Monday 18 December until closing for the Christmas and New Year period on Friday 22 December. The Library will remain closed until 9am Wednesday 3 January when it will return to the reduced hours of 9am-5pm until Friday 5 January 2018.

Document Delivery Christmas Hours

The Library’s Document Delivery request service will be closed between 11 December 2017 and 4 January 2018 due to the Christmas closure. If you place a request for an article or item from another library, it will be processed from Thursday 4th January 2018, however, there may be some delays while any backlogs are cleared.

What’s happened to the “Similar items” option in the catalogue?

Not all items in the catalogue provide this information. When this is available similar items may be found when you open the full record of an item in the catalogue by clicking on the title. On the right hand side of the screen you’ll then see a list of “Further Reading”.

What has happened to my e-shelf in the library catalogue?

Records that were stored in e-shelf are now located in My Favourites. Make sure you are logged into the catalogue, then click on the My Favourites link. You’ll be able to label and sort items in a similar way as you sorted items in the e-shelf.

How can I export citations from the catalogue to my EndNote library, using a MAC?

At the moment you will experience a problem exporting citations from the catalogue to EndNote if you’re using Safari. This is being investigated. In the meantime Firefox and Chrome are working perfectly, so you might like to change your browser. Remember, you should always check any references as you import them into your EndNote library.

How can I search for ebooks in the catalogue?

It’s easy to find ebooks in the catalogue – just enter your search terms and, on the results page, use the filters on the right hand side of the screen. Under Resource Type, you can limit by “books” and then “Available Online” to see the links to ebooks.
