By Martin Hill May 20th, 2016 iLecture FAQs to delete

  • Specify what section/unit the new copy will go into.
    • Make sure you delete the old 2012 or 2013 Sem1 or Sem2 wording if it appears in the title of the recording. Otherwise the recording will still be archived and deleted!

  • Click copyto finish.

Your recording should then be moved into your ongoing iLecture unit and be safe from archiving or deletion going forward.

By Martin Hill May 18th, 2016 iLecture FAQs
Recordings stored in an ONGOING iLecture unit will not be archived or deleted so are useful where you continue to use the same recordings year after year.
To create an ONGOING unit, go to the iLecture Management Tool (IMT) and choosing Access or Create a new iLecture Unit
IMT Request type
Enter the unit ID (or create a new name for non-academic) then choose the ONGOING Term
Add ongoing unit

If you need these recordings to auto-publish into Blackboard, follow this guide : How to Auto-Publish into Blackboard

Uploading Video Files to iLecture

By Learning Technologies Support September 28th, 2012 iLecture FAQs

How do I upload Video/Audio Files to iLecture?
It is not good practice to embed videos into Blackboard content. This is because whenever a user accesses the video link the ENTIRE file has to be downloaded to the users workstation before it will start playing. This is an issue if users have any bandwidth restrictions.

The preferred method is to upload your videos to the Echo360 server where they can be accessed and played as “streaming” files. This means that the videos start playing right away and if the user stops the video part way through all they will have downloaded is that part that they have watched.

It is a simple procedure to make your videos available. Access this PDF document with the steps and details needed to do this.
