Set Up a Group Sign-up Sheet

Step 1: To begin, access the Groups tool by going to the Users and Groups section of the Control Panel, and choose Groups.

Extending students access in Blackboard

Some students will need extra time to access unit materials due to illness, personal reasons, etc. The primary reason for granting extended access is for supplementary examinations.

Extending the access for a student will allow the student to continue to have access to the unit materials for a longer period of time than other students.

The process is initiated though OLAS (Online Learning Administration System).

Turnitin Feedback Studio

Turnitin Feedback Studio

Turnitin has released a major product upgrade that will soon be available at Curtin for Semester 1.

The new version of the service, called Turnitin Feedback Studio, offers all the functionalities of Turnitin, but with a simplified, more intuitive interface designed for the modern classroom. Turnitin Feedback Studio will make it faster and easier than ever to promote academic integrity, provide actionable feedback, and evaluate student learning at Curtin.

We plan to upgrade our version of Turnitin to Feedback Studio on 27/01/2017. Once upgraded, you can expect to see a new interface when you open up a student’s paper in Turnitin. Your students will also experience this new and improved interface when viewing Similarity Reports and receiving feedback.

The Curtin Turnitin User Guide has also been updated to reflect this update (Page 22 references the Feedback Studio).

Turnitin Update

This blog post is to update you on the current status of the Turnitin Direct and Turnitin Basic assessment tools currently installed on Curtin’s Blackboard.

Current status of Turnitin Direct

  • Due to the issues experienced last year and the ongoing problems that have been occurring in testing (despite upgrades), the decision has reluctantly been made to turn off this service for Semester 1 2017.

Current status of Turnitin Basic

  • Turnitin Basic is still active and has not been affected by current issues afflicting Turnitin Direct.

There are no differences in terms of functionality of the tools except for a few cosmetic differences in the User Interface in the Submission Inbox and the way the assignments themselves are created. The Grademark facilities and Originality Reports are the same with both versions.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this causes anyone who previously used Turnitin Direct.
