AN AWESOME OPEN DAY

Curtin’s current advertising campaign promises ‘awesome awaits’ and we certainly lived up to that at yesterday’s Open Day.

I had to travel overseas unexpectedly, and was very disappointed to miss my first Open Day, but was in contact with my colleagues as the day unfolded.

I know visitors started arriving early and the campus was packed throughout the day. The Courses Expo on Edinburgh Oval was continually busy with prospective students talking to our staff and learning more about our courses. They also explored our facilities, attended lectures and demonstrations, participated in tours and enjoyed the wide range of activities available on the day. Even as late as 3.30pm, many visitors were still on campus and enjoying themselves.

We had a record attendance of over 21,300 visitors, a figure particularly impressive in light of the half cohort next year. Thank you to everyone involved in the event. The fantastic turnout is a just reward for all your hard work.

Please remember everyone involved in Open Day is welcome at the Thank You Breakfast tomorrow at 7.30-9am in the Main Café. I look forward to seeing you there.
