Media report on plagiarism issue

I am sure that many of you have will seen the article “Curtin head accused of copying” that appeared in The Australian today.

The article incorrectly claims the National Tertiary Education Union lodged the complaint with the University’s Professional Standards and Conduct Unit after receiving no response from the Director of Human Resources.

The Director of Human Resources notified the relevant Pro Vice-Chancellor of the complaint, who lodged it with the Professional Standards and Conduct Unit.

This error reflects badly on both the University and the Director of Human Resources and we have asked the paper to print a correction.

Such issues are very difficult for all concerned and I appreciate your understanding of the situation.
