Suggestion: Quiet Computer Room

By Curtin Library 15 May 2017 News & events Comments Off on Suggestion: Quiet Computer Room

From the suggestion box@Curtin Library…

Quiet rooom – library computer facilities including sound – no group activities PLEASE Can we have a rooom where there is library computer facilities including sound where it is QUITE no group activities PLEASE!!!!!!! DO NOT SUGGEST A LAPTOP IN THE QUIET AREA!!!!! I want to use the mainframe computer because I want a larger screen than a laptop.

The Library responds…

Thank you for the suggestion.  I will request that the sound cards be enabled on the PCs in the Level 6 Quiet Computer rooms so that you may use headphones.

Due to previous complaints, the sound cards are specifically disabled on PCs in the  Silent Computing Rooms on Levels 5 and 6 to prevent noise from headphones disturbing people working in these areas.

These computer rooms are for individual study and if you are being disturbed by other clients in the room please inform a member of Library Staff who will be able to assist.
