Put aside October 17 to visit the JCPML and hear our Visiting Scholar for 2012, Associate Professor of History Bobbie Oliver, speak of the secret life of Elsie Curtin, wife of Prime Minister John Curtin.

Not only will the lecture explore the life of this much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, activist, musician, letter-writer and overall sensible and practical woman, but it aims to put to rest some enduring myths about her role as a prime minister’s wife.

Professor Oliver’s research will also be transformed into a website resource which will be available soon after the lecture.

I am looking forward to hearing Assoc Prof Bobbie Oliver speak about Elsie Curtin. We recently visited their home in Cottesloe and took the audio tour, she was one incredible woman and a role model for anyone to emulate.

What time will the talks take place, you have only mentioned the date.
